• Nauctis stays sealed shut. Asked how much islandwalk the upcoming set contains, Rosewater declined to elaborate — no more information until previews begin.
• Reality Fracture is 2026's most faithful set to its original vision. Of this year's releases, MaRo says Reality Fracture shipped closest to its vision design handoff — "not that it didn't change a lot" — with a vision design writeup on the way.

• Inside the Reality Fracture paired sheet: picture a run of six cards — A1/A2, B1/B2, C1/C2, where each "1" is the normal Multiverse version and each "2" is its pair. Your booster grabs three; two slots are locked to one pair, so every pack contains at least one complete matched pair. Rosewater initially said a planeswalker's other version shows up "half the time," then endorsed a reader's correction that the per-card odds are 2/3. He didn't break out specifics for the foil slot or Prerelease foil.

• Budget mana, refreshed. EDHREC updated its big list of budget lands for Commander for 2026 — the annual refresh of favorite budget duals (Drowned Catacomb, Rootbound Crag, and friends) is prime reading before your next 3+ color build.

Design & Lore

• The full Battle for Zendikar postmortem exists. Asked what actually went wrong with BFZ for players, Rosewater pointed to his ~40-minute Drive to Work episode on the block's lessons learned — required listening for Eldrazi nostalgics.
• Morph variants and the tracking tax. On whether proliferating Morph-likes (Cyberman, Cloak, Disguise) create memory issues alongside older face-down cards, Rosewater was blunt: mixing all of Magic's history means some tracking burden is unavoidable, and R&D won't restrict new mechanics just to spare old-card interactions.
