The “problem” with the Legendary Rule is only a “problem” when the vast majority of a set’s creatures are Legendary. This isn’t a problem with the Legendary Rule, it’s a problem with Universes Beyond sets. You just want it to be a problem with the Legendary Rule because you’re trying to push Universes Beyond sets. Way to sell the rule system’s integrity for crossover marketing!

A very specific thing I’d like to give high fives for: art on characters with existing color pallettes that manage to also fit their color identity into the art. Doom, King of Laveria is a Grixis card for a character whose most iconic colors are green and silver, but blue, red, and black shine through on the card. Black Bolt, Inhuman King is an Azorius card on a character whose most iconic color is black, but the art manages to include a lot of notes of blue and white. This is GOOD art design.

Just here to say got to play mood swings during game night. I haven’t seen people get that into a game since monopoly. I think its gonna be a mainstay lol. Big ups my guy

Can you share any instances where a mechanic or theme you intended to be setwide got shrunk down to one archetype or vice versa? if so do you think it was the right decision?

DTW idea: how does Design think about iconic cards…Ancestral Recall, Sengir Vampire, Force of Will, Tolarian Academy, etc. People love them but Magic is also about constant change.

Awhile back I asked about the potential for autographed cards appearing in Magic product. It was great to see that Headliner cards are in Mood Swings. I know logistics are likely different, for do the autographed Headliner cards in Mood Swings increase potential for seeing autographed cards in Magic product?
